5 Free Things to Do When You Vacation at Our Cabins in Pigeon Forge for Rent

Having fun on vacation doesn’t have to be expensive! The Pigeon Forge area is home to a number of fun activities that don’t cost a cent. To help you make the most of your trip, Great Outdoor Cabin Rentals has put together a list of some of our favorite free things to do when you stay at our cabins in Pigeon Forge for rent:

1. Explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Unlike other national parks, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park doesn’t have an entrance fee! This means that visitors can explore over 800 miles of beautifully maintained trails for free. With everything from hikes that are less than a mile long, to 14 mile expeditions, you are guaranteed to find the perfect trail for your interests and abilities. Additionally, the park offers a number of excellent scenic drives, picnic areas, and a great visitors center.

2. Visit The Old Mill Square

The Old Mill Square is one of the most popular shopping and dining areas in Pigeon Forge, but it’s possible to enjoy the area with spending next to no money. The Old Mill General Store and Pigeon River Pottery are both fun places to browse, even if you don’t plan on making a purchase. If you visit The Old Mill Candy Kitchen, you can get a free sample of delicious taffy or fudge.

Located right on the Little Pigeon River, The Old Mill is frequented by a number of ducks. For about $1, you can buy some feed at the general store and make some new feathered friends. Of course, you can always just sit back and watch the water birds frolic in the river.

3. Enjoy Free Entertainment at Your Cabin

When you stay at our cabins in Pigeon Forge for rent, you won’t need to leave your home away from home to have plenty of fun! Cabins with game rooms offer billiards, air hockey, and arcade games that are sure to keep your little ones occupied. Some of our cabins also come with excellent theater rooms, so you can have a family movie night that is even better than visiting a cinema. During the warm months, guests who stay at our Pigeon Forge cabins with pool access can spend an afternoon soaking up the sun and cooling off in the water.

4. Walk Around The Island

The Island is a great place to stroll around with your family. You can peek into the 60+ shops at the complex, enjoy some moonshine samples and live music at the Ole Smoky Moonshine Barn, and admire the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, The Island’s towering ferris wheel. Visitors will also love The Island’s Show Fountain, which features water geysers that dance in sync with popular songs. Fountain shows occur every half hour from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and are particularly beautiful at night, when the water is illuminated with blue, purple, and green lights.

5. Take Advantage of Free Attraction Tickets

To help make your vacation even more affordable, Great Outdoor Cabin Rentals provides guests with a Smoky Mountain VIP Pass each night of their stay. This special pass can be redeemed for one free adult ticket to some of the best attractions in the area. Participating businesses include WonderWorks, Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show, Country Tonite Music Show, Legacy Mountain Ziplines, and many more.
