Renting a cabin in Pigeon Forge is one of the best ways to stay in the Smokies. It’s like a home away from home. You have all of the amenities you would find in a hotel and then some.
When booking your stay with a cabin company it’s important to ask questions. Most rules and regulations will be posted on the company’s website, but here are a few suggestions for you to ask when shopping around.
1. What toiletries are provided? In most cases Smoky Mountain cabin rental companies will provide at least a day or two supply worth of the basics: toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.
Bath towels are another thing to check on. They will provide a certain number per bathrooms, but you may need more if you plan on hitting the pool or don’t want to do laundry on your vacation.
2. The View- Be sure to inquire about the view and the cabin surroundings. Even though you won’t necessarily be spending most of your time at your Pigeon Forge cabin, you still want to enjoy the view when you do.
At Great Outdoor Rentals, some of our spacious Pigeon Forge cabins offer a secluded and scenic Smoky Mountain view.
3. The Location- Find out where your cabin in Pigeon Forge is in relation to town. Know how far away you are from the attractions you want to visit. Ask if it sits off the main road or if you have privacy.
4. The Amenities- Know what your cabin in Pigeon Forge offers. Most times the amenities will be listed on the cabin’s web page, but be sure to ask that no changes have been made to the cabin and that everything pictured is still present. Especially, when traveling with a large family or children, this question is key.
Ask about game tables and pools/resort pool access. If traveling during the summer months you may also want to inquire if the cabin offers a charcoal or gas grill.
5. Extra Fees- This one may be the most important of them all. Ask your reservationist if any other fees may be added to the cost. This can be true in instances of a pet fee or extra guest fee.
Also, ask about extending your stay. Often times cabin companies will offer you a discounted rate if you choose to extend your stay . This is a great way to save and have extra time to take in the sights.
