Spirit of the Wolf

This has gone down on our family vacation history as our all time favorite vacation. The kids loved cooking on the grill and sitting in the jacuzzi and looking at nature. At night we'd watch a movie of the several themed per the cabin movies. We loved the cozy feeling. Out of every window was an incredible view. We are heading back in 2014!

Mountain Memories

It would not let me select 2014, so this may not even be seen. I would like to say that we enjoyed our stay and it was peaceful. The cabin is perfect for 2 people wanting a peaceful setting. I feel that the outside of the cabin could have had a little more cleaning as we seen several that was very nice and neat outside. There was something under the kitchen sink that had a bad odor and the sink stoppers were kinda slimy. Other than these minor things we would stay here again. The price range and the people at the rental place were very nice and helpful.

Black Bear Lodge

The photos do not do justice for this cabin. The cabin sits on top of the mountain approx 1900 feet up and the views are breath taking. There is plenty of room and things to do for everyone of all ages. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfy.
The resort (Shag Bark) is named after a 500lb bear named Shaggy, that lives there. There is also a wild turkey just around the bend from the cabin. You are within 1 hour or less to all major attractions. A must do while there is 4 wheeling at Bluff Mountain for the adventure and Cades Cove for Black Bear photo opportunities.
Carey from GOR is always there for you and responds quickly to any questions or concerns. In fact Carey recommended Cades Cove and while there 2 black bears walk in front of our car making this trip spectacular! I recommend this cabin to all as the perfect mountain top getaway and GOR as the place you can trust to rent from.

All Together

Reservation clerk very nice. We reserved tickets for Dixie Stampede and Dollywood and they were awaiting us in the cabin when we arrived. Our only major problem was the sofa bed could not be used our first night there and we needed it. I called the office the next morning they came right out to look at it and the next thing I know is I had a voice mail telling me they had delivered a new sofa sleeper and chair to the cabin! The cabin's location was great far enough away so that we enjoyed the peace and quiet but not to far from town. I
My only other suggestion is to replace the mattress in the downstairs bedroom, way to soft...and to wash the big beautiful windows more often because it is just such a beautiful scene outside them! Overall we really enjoyed our stay!
